We were asked to help with this Project by John Babu Purimitla who we have known since 1999. He is an Indian missionary working in Kathmandu.
John’s father pastors a fellowship in a rural village called Parchur which is about two hundred miles up the coast from Chennai and about five miles inland from Chirala. The fellowship have a large church/community building, a home for widows and an orphanage. Be prepared to be challenged by the wonderful people you will come into contact with. The team will be staying in the village and cared for by the local people.

FREE TIME:
On our days off we will be able to visit a huge hydroelectric dam near Hyderabad and also spend time on the beach at Chirala.

The beauty of this whole area is that it is off the tourist trail and unspoiled by westernisation.

This will be Soapbox’s fourth year in Parchur working with this fellowship. The team will be helping to construct an extension to the ‘widows home’ as well as a variety of practical jobs.

The Team will be flying directly to Hyderabad and travelling by coach to Parchur.
