21 Million people live in Uganda, a country the same size as England. Elevated plains, vast forests, low swamps, arid depressions and snow capped mountains make this a hugely diverse and interesting place. Since the brutal regime of Idi Amin in the 70’s political instability brought the country to its knees economically with ordinary people suffering the most. Uganda is now slowly finding it’s feet again. “You will receive far more than you can give from people who will touch your heart!” |

We have been asked once again to help with an orphanage in Kakira, building on the work started by the team in 2007. It has been largely built but is an empty shell at the moment. The building is watertight but desperately needs all kinds of internal work. The children are already resident in the building and so there will be plenty of opportunity for children’s work. On the team’s days off, there will be opportunities to visit some of the amazing sights of Uganda such as the falls, a sugar factory ad the stunning countryside - an altogether worthwhile experience. |
