Brazil
Soapbox team rebuilding a wall in Belo Horizonte
Brazil is a vast country of over 150 million people - bustling cities give way to vast expanses of jungle in the Amazon Basin. There are also great plains leading up to the dramatic landscape of the Andes Mountains, forming the backbone of South America. Statistics are always misleading, because there are vast numbers of people living around the edge of cities forming the infamous “Favelas” where many families often live in poverty. It is estimated that there are 8 million street children in Brazil alone.

SoapBox will be returning to Belo Horizonte, to support the work of Ana Lucia as she ministers to children with a variety of needs from the age of 4 to 10yrs. The particular home we  will be involved with needs to be painted again.

There will as always be plenty of opportunity every day to play with, teach, encourage and love the children in the orphanage. The team will be staying at the same home as the children so there will be plenty of time to have fun and games  with them.

They will enjoy wonderful fellowship with the local people from the nearby church.  On their days off the team will see some of the sights of the region including a disused gold mine and a weekend away in the mountains.
