Below are a few of the comments we've recieved from our SoapBox mission partners and volunteers around the globe this year.
"The teams which left have done a fantastic job. They were very orderly and nonoperative and they worked very hard with all passion to serve. Thank you for making it possible for them to come and we pray that they will come again."
Pastor Evans and Rose, Kibera Slum Project, Kenya.
"We were very satisfied about what was done this time at the orphanage. The wall that separates the orphanage from the neighbour's house was finally completed, which made Ana a lot happy about it. One of the things she was really pleased is the fact that besides being able to finish the wall the team also managed to concrete an open area where the children used to play and it was a lot dangerous for them to be there without that leveling. Now, besides safety the children can play in a beautiful, new and clean area. Thank you once again for sending a wonderful team.."
Brazil project 2011.
" The Team did a marvelous job of doing construction work in our Kisiriri Church. The Team was very nice and Simon is a great leader. We had a nice time with all of them and I hope they also did enjoyed their visit and work here in Maasailand. The community and the Church here have appreciated their visit and they are very thankful for the work that was done by the Team.."
Maasailand project, Kenya.
"The Soapbox team came this year actually it was very good. The team was of very helpful to the sustainability of the St. Michael's Secondary School, which meant developing the process of utilizing the potentiality of the diocese to serving the immediate marginalized."
Joseph Mgomi, Bishop Diocese of Ruaha, Tanzania project.
"Deciding to go on a Soapbox Short Term Mission Trip was at first a daunting decision. I believed I would find it too difficult to cope in a different culture and find it too upsetting to be in a place of poverty. But pushing through that barrier and being on a trip was a brilliant experience and one that I would definitely recommend. By the end of the three weeks spent in Brazil with the team I didn't actually want to return to England. I know that the work we did was for the good of the kids and the orphanage we stayed in, but I actually think that it did me a lot of good also. It made me see that real happiness isn't obtained by just doing things for yourself, its by helping others. If your indecisive about whether or not to sign up and go on a trip I suggest you stop thinking so hard about it and go for it."
Patrick Green, volunteer Brazil.
"It was great to go with Soapbox as love drives everything that they do; love for locals, love for change, love for nations, love for God and love for the person going on the trip. Every last detail is carefully considered which creates a life changing experience!"
Grace McMurdo, volunteer Malawi.
