SoapBox/Starfish Malawi Project Summer 2008 Part 1

The summer of 2008 saw two teams going to Malawi to work at the SoapBox/Starfish project in Salima. The two trips were for 2 and 3-weeks consecutively making the possibility for some to go for 5-weeks.
This is the first of three short videos covering the 'Work' aspect of the teams' time there. The other two parts cover 'Rest' and 'Play' and are available by following the links.

TLC Orphanage, Johannesburg, South Africa

This is a very popular project which is on hiatus for 2010. The TLC orphanage started in response to the huge number of babies being born with HIV/AIDS in South Africa and through a process of tender loving care and placement with families, the orphanage has become a leading light in the care of children suffering from this appalling disease.
Be warned, several SoapBox participants have ended going out to TLC for extended periods of time to help with the work. This project has a way of changing your life.
Because there is a potential to be working with premature babies, TLC have asked us to raise the minimum age to 18 for this project.

Church in a Pub - May 4th 2008

SoapBox Associate, Rob Russell heads up the prison ministry and has started a new initiative in the Stoughton area of Guildford in Surrey.
Church in a Pub is simply a desire to create a space for those who wouldn't necessarily go to church where they can experience worship, testimony and teaching in a non threatening, familiar environment. if you would like more info or maybe get involved with this initiative, contact Rob: prisons@soapboxtrust.com
