SoapBox ChildCare Kampala |
Nakawa Jewellery Making Project |
Whilst on a recent visit to Nakawa Baptist Church on the outskirts of Kampala, Uganda, SoapBox ChildCare coordinator, Jane Olaki, showed Executive Director and Chairman of Trustees, Ray Macpherson, a recent endeavour by the children in the ChildCare project. The children are using scrap paper to make jewellery in a classic African style. They are planning to sell the jewellery to help support the school in Nakawa. The SoapBox team will be able to purchase these items when they visit later in the summer and the hope is that some will return with jewellery and sell it in their local churches and groups, forwarding the money raised to the church in Nakawa.
